Finding jobs for ex-offenders alone is not sufficient. Some of the ex-offenders need support and
sufficient time to transit smoothly into the work environment. Given this, in 1992, SCORE's Employment Assistance Unit
initiated the Corporate Adoption Scheme (CAS) where employers appoint supervisors as mentors to provide personalised
attention, guidance and support to ex-offenders in the workplace.
Three companies took part when CAS was first launched in October 1992. To date, there are 137 CAS companies, which
have mentored more than 3,000 ex-offenders.
