A wide array of training is provided to offenders in the Prisons and Drug Rehabilitation Centres (DRCs) to equip them with the relevant job skills. SCORE has attained Approved Training Centre (ATC) status to conduct NITEC, ISC, NSRS courses and OJT programmes for offenders. Some of the courses conducted include NITEC in Electronics, ISC in Food Preparation, ISC in Electrical Wiring, ISC in Residential Air-conditioning, NSRS in Cleaning Skills, etc.

Enhanced PersonalRoute Map (EPRM)
The Singapore Prison Service and SCORE have instituted the Enhanced Personal Route Map (EPRM) for offenders. The EPRM includes a planning tool, which measures offenders’ current competencies and vocational interest against the prevailing employment market requirement in order to identify employability gaps and recommend tangible ways to maximize the employment potential of offenders. This tool also provides a systematic approach in allocating resources to offenders based on their needs and in allowing them to take greater ownership in acquiring new sets of competencies to remain employable.

“Train & Place” Scheme
Providing skills training alone may not be enough; the skills training must enable offenders to secure a job. As such, SCORE has conceptualised and implemented a "Train & Place" scheme to ensure offenders are assured of employment upon completing a skills training. The scheme concentrates on identifying industries, which require manpower support, and then working with these industries to train offenders in pertinent skills to meet their manpower needs. This "Train & Place" scheme has been piloted since 2004.
